I have new hobby: furniture refinishing. I got this old, solid-wood dresser off Craigslist for cheap. I had intended to redo it for Ella's room but later decided it was too awesome to hide in a bedroom (Ella's dresser will be my next project:). I sanded it down to bare wood, stained the top, painted the body white, distressed the edges, wiped the whole thing down with a glaze/stain combo, sealed it, and painted the handles a nice oil-rubbed bronze color. I hadn't intended on making it look quite so antiqued, but for a first time project I'm pretty proud of it. I loved the process and since our bare house is in need of some tables and dressers here and there, I'm planning on doing this many more times!

ReplyDeleteHi Audrey, It's denise from The Painted Home. We got our sofa at Raymour and Flannigan in 2006. I love that it doesn't have back cushions too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and I love your dresser makeover! gorgeous!

I have so much dresser envy. I showed my husband with huge eyes while saying "dont we need something JUST like this?!" You impress me Aubrey, if only we were all so crafty.
